International Summer Festival of Music, opera, ballet and theater performances will be held from June 26 to August 6 in the largest cultural and historical center of the peninsula Istria - Croatian town of Pula. This year the festival is held for the ninth time.

Lorvan Summer is an annual celebration of Croatia. It consist combination of folk and classical music performances with outdoor celebrations like Fisherman’s Night (14 July) and Lovran’s Night (4 August), offering traditional Mediterranean food, music and entertainment.

On Tuesdays and Fridays Visitors can take pleasure in classical music show, harmony of singing groups, traditional dance and music in old town of Lovran (St Ivan’s Square, St Juraj’s Square and St Juraj’s Church).

Pag winter carnival is related to female slave and two boys. The main act of the carnival involve a female slave character named Robinja, is played by a man dressed as a woman wearing a neckerchief with two young boys, one of them is salesman and another is musician and many other characters are related to the time of Turkish rule. The participants are performed in the front of crowd at the parish priest’s house.

The simple plan is based on selling a female slave, the opposing sides arguing and recounting past events. At the end of the show, the viewers being shrink and the female slave run away.

Pag Winter carnival is held on Jan-Feb 2009 at Pag in Croatia.

The queen of Costa Rican carnivals, Puntarenas Carnival rocks the coastal town with wild pachanga music and other Latino beats every February.

The run-up to the large-scale carnival procession is filled with the continuous parading of comparsas (organized groups of carnival dancers) and vivid mascaradas (giant smiling painted heads) on the Paseo de los Turistas in the town centre, with cultural activities such as art exhibitions and fishing tournaments sprouting up throughout the week

The paramount choosing and crowning of the carnival queen takes place in the Plaza Pacífico on the first day of events, followed by the coronation dance and an explosion of fireworks in the evening. The real party, however, gets going with the carnival procession on the Saturday of the final weekend, starting in the Balneario Municipal and filing up the Paseo de los Turistas. A colourful stream of bopping heads and jigging bodies swerves to the music, making this an unmissable Costa Rica Pura Vida experience.

In Cambodia, the king’s birthday is a national holiday that features a fireworks display on the banks of the Tonle Sap River in front of Royal Palace - a stunning building of curving roofs with the exquisite Silver Pagoda just next door.

In Siem Reap, the base town for exploring the ruins of Angkor, locals have their photo taken in front of a freshly-decorated picture of the king. Fireworks also feature in the celebrations here and, if the king is in town, there will be traditional dance in Angkor Wat. Throughout Cambodia, village halls host graceful performances of classical Khmer dance, children play traditional games and the whole country takes a day off to honour the king - or HM Preah Bat Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk Varman, as he is officially known.
